Half Me, Half You

RoL'n Productions presents

by Liane Grant

26th March - 6th April 2019

There will be a Q&A with the cast and creatives at 6pm on 1st April. Free for ticket holders. More info below.

What if you were black, gay and a woman in America right now?

Jess and Meredith are a married, interracial, gay couple living in New York in 2017 – the era of Trump – weathering a new wave of intolerance discrimination and oppression, which is sweeping the nation and seeping into their home.

16 years later, Maya, a biracial British teen is forced into American life, braving the aftermath of a second civil war, and changing Meredith’s life irrevocably.

Returning after its highly praised 2018 run in New York and London, in her remarkable writing debut, Liane Grant’s Half me, half you confronts the reality of the current global climate and explores the consequences for future generations, while reminding us that we are all simply people searching for love and acceptance.

RoL'n Productions is really excited to be partnering with Talking Birds for this production of Half Me, Half You, utilising their technology The Difference Engine to provide captioning at all 11 performances.

The Difference Engine is Talking Birds‘ discrete new tool for making performances and events accessible to deaf, hard-of-hearing, or partially-sighted audience members by delivering captioning or audio description direct to their own mobile devices.

It’s very simple – simply book a ticket for one of the performances listed, drop us an email on [email protected] to let us know you’d like to use captioning, and download the Difference Engine app before you get to the theatre. Once you arrive, our Box Office staff will be able to direct you to someone who can show you how to get set up and enjoy the performance.

The Difference Engine is in the early stages of its development – so we may ask for your feedback after the performance.

To find out more about The Difference Engine, check out the Talking Birds website here.

The Q&A will be hosted by Terri Paddock. Confirmed panel members are Olivier Award winning actor/director Maria Friedman, Chief Executive of Stop Hate UK, Rose Simkins, and Femi Oluwole, Co-founder and Chief Spokesperson for Our Future Our Choice with cast/creatives.
