‘I’m not expecting anything. From you or from this.’
Rosie is caught up in a world of social norms and can’t find a way to navigate her love, longing and lust when she is hit with the biggest decision of her life. ‘A Girl, Standing’ is a snapshot into the life of one woman – Rosie – as she tries to navigate both the irritating trivialities of life and the wider complexities of the female experience.
Late-night conversations between Rosie and Cara are laid bare against the morning-after small talk between Rosie and Sam. Talk Back Theatre bring Kate Reid’s humorous and truthful script to life, throwing light on how society views sexuality, gender and relationships through the eyes of one girl and one big decision.
