First Festival

FIRST is our annual Festival of Solo Performances, first unveiled in 2013 to widespread acclaim and national press coverage, and in 2014 supported by Arts Council England for the first time in a brim-full programme over three weeks including work by Fringe First Award winner Patrice Naiambana, Adelaide Festival Award-winner Lucy Hopkins, innovative emerging performers Molly Naylor and Ira Brand, Bristol Residence artist Ed Rapley, magician Ali Cook, poetry from Phill Jupitus and comedy from Shappi Khorsandi among many others.

The 2014 Festival also featured a special Actors Centre workshop programme with events led by Vicky Jones (Fringe First and Stage Solo Performance Award winner and Oliver Nominee FLEABAG) and Evening Standard Award nominee David Mercatali (Fringe First and Stage Solo Performance Award nominee DARK VANILLA JUNGLE).

The Festival also supported the creation of new works-in-progress by performers inculding Fringe First winning Hungarian artist Eva Magyar.
