Midnight Matinees at the Tristan Bates Theatre

The Tristan Bates Theatre's pioneering Midnight Matinee is looking for the country's most innovative and insomniac artists to experiment with its audience into the night. Programmed on the third Saturday of every month, the Midnight Matinees have previously premiered a play by Che Walker, broadcast a live interactive radio comedy and showcased a surreal attempt to blend schizophrenia with storytelling.

The Midnight Matinee has now been invited to the Latitude Festival for 2009! We will be giving some of the best acts of our current season a chance to perform for our largest late-night audience kept up by caffeine, Carlsberg and a craving for raw and riveting theatre.

Submissions are now open for acts to perform in a new season of matinees. Upcoming shows are scheduled for Saturdays the 21st March, 18th April, 16th May and 20th June. All are at 12pm midnight at the Tristan Bates Theatre in Covent Garden.
