It'll make your heart skip a beat...

"Original for sure. From the cute to the bizarre, the museum encourages you to open your mind and your heart.” Mark Lowen, BBC.

Events

The Museum of Broken Relationships is an award winning exhibition of seemingly ordinary yet incredibly poignant objects. Donated by individuals from all over the world, each object tells the story of a past relationship.

Visit this global exhibition which spans two venues: Tristan Bates Theatre and 38 Earlham Street. Objects from the permanent collection will be displayed alongside new donations made by the community living and working in Covent Garden and looking to exhibit their own legacy of lost love.

The exhibition space design and paper cut-out artwork is by Alice Bray.

Celebrating the arrival of the Museum of Broken Relationships, the Tristan Bates Theatre have commissioned brilliant artists to create original work inspired by the donated artefacts in a myriad of disciplines. Come along to the TBT and the seven dials festivals to see how the writer Ben Okri or the singer Eska, the Poet Curious or the Guerilla Dance Project respond to the challenge. There is a feast of music, visual art, drama and interactive live events all exploring the Museum’s simple and uplifting notion that you can overcome emotional collapse through creation.

Explore the links to the left to find out about the superb artists, perfomers and writers creating responses to the exhibition, including our final event:
