A newly commissioned play by Ben Okri. Inspired by the Museum and a selection of the UK donated objects. Come and see the staged reading of this world premiere inside the Museum of Broken Relationships. Limited Capacity. Standing room only.

First Date Night

Ever tried to avoid talking about past relationships on a first date? Impossible? We will be opening the museum exclusively to couples on their first dates. You won't have to worry about not having something to talk about-there's a museum full of oddities at your disposal to get the conversation flowing. And start a new romance.

Ceilidh
Seven Dials Club

Dance the night away, make friends, and celebrate living. We've got the fantastic Steam Chicken Ceilidh Band, described as "a gem of vibrant eccentricity" Mike Harding-BBC Radio 2, "...just have to be seen live.." Featuring veteran ceilidh caller Hannah Bright. This is living tradition. No experience needed, every dance is explained and everyone is welcome.

Poetry Face-Off! Your host: Poet Curious

Hosted by Poet Curious: MC and DJ known for rocking turntables and microphones both in the UK and US. We will be setting poets the following challenge: They will have three hours to explore the exhibits and write a poetry response. Then the battle commences.

We've got loads of exciting performances and things for you to get involved with. Come along for a stroll in the Seven Dials area, Covent Garden, and be surprised by the talent on display!
Here's an idea of what you can expect:
12pm - 4pm in the Streets of Seven Dials
Intimacy: Stories from the Museum of Broken Relationships. See the streets come alive with the 100 stories from the Museum.
Bollywood dancing: Shava shava!! You get the idea... Get blown away by this colourful oriental dance piece choreographed by Mathangi Ramakrishnan.
Poetry in the Streets: Free poetry recitals inspired by the Museum of Broken Relationships.
Coney- The Agency of adventure have come to play. Join in too.
5:30pm onwards in the Tristan Bates Theatre
We've set independent filmmakers Heather Taylor and Michelle Tsen, and the Actors Screen Collective the challenge to create two short films inspired by the objects donated to the Museum of Broken Relationships.

Night of Song - Celebrating Relationships Through Song
Music and laughter, love and romance...Join us as we celebrate relationships through pop up performances of poetry, music and song.

The Actors Centre Poetry Pool presents: Truths about Love
Tristan Bates Theatre

wander round the museum before settling down for a poem or two. Performed by the Actors Centre Poetry Pool- this exciting group of actors, directed by Clive Swift, have prepared a diverse and unusual afternoon of verse inspired by the Museum of Broken Relationships. This is a great opportunity to see an amusing and moving live recital bringing the wonderful diversity of our poetic heritage to life.
