The Midnight Matinees are a monthly late-night happening that test and develop new work from some of the UK’s most innovative artists. In September the Midnight Matinee will be the finale to the Seven Dials Festival, a day of events in the Seven Dials area. For more info about what's happening on the day, click here.

September's Line Up includes

Pistol and JackPistol and Jack

She's an American pop princess and he's a Cockney rock god. Raw, clever, and camp, Pistol & Jack will take you through their hilarious and heartbreaking history while performing their mash-ups - rock and pop hits from Lady Gaga to David Bowie - inventively woven together and performed like you've never heard them before.

Charlie Dupre aka MC TreasonMC Treason - A spoken word set

Known on the drum n bass scene as MC Treason, Charlie Dupré began spitting bars while studying philosophy at the University of Nottingham, and while he continues to rampage through some double-time for various DnB DJs, he has since taken up Beat Poetry which he performs at Spoken Word events and slams around London. Professionally trained as an actor, his vocal and physical command is an integral part of his style, and his material is often penetratingly abstract but always creative, insightful, and charmingly observant..

Hello! My name's Jay Foreman. I'm 25, I'm from North London and I sing silly songs.

It all started in York University in February 2005 when I needed a money-raising project to pay for a hitch-hiking trip to Morocco. The CD I made sold more than 400 copies at uni and my song "Moon Chavs" went viral on YouTube. I played at nearly every open mic in York and started doing proper gigs all over the country.

In August 2007, I did a show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe called 20 Songs for Free and was featured as "BBC New Talent Pick of the Fringe". I was invited as a guest on several shows, including Lunch with the Hamiltons and the first week of Nuts TV.

The most recent very exciting thing to happen to me was in 2009 when I won Best Newcomer at the Tuborg Musical Comedy awards! Since then I've been back to the Edinburgh Fringe, (co-starring in more than 8 shows) and playing more and more gigs, mostly in London.
